One of the joys of being an artist hitting fifty is getting asked to create new works- and having a good idea of approach. I have to admit I wasn't sure what I was going to paint when Mr.Steve Mix of Limestone said his favorite movie was National Lampoon's Vacation. It's been years since I saw it-. I am more of "Out of Africa , Alice in Wonderland kind of girl" and I did enjoy the recent Bond flick last year ". But- the rub is - we all need to get out ourselves and find the common ground around us and who hasn't been on a vacation gone wrong? Who hasn't been led astray by a vacation poster? Centerfold of promises. It is only down another road - we look back and see the past adventure was more than what was promised- and we would do it all over again.
We all look at maps- and images and plot our escape.
